Our homeowners association
has approved one well-behaved pet per rental. This is a rare opportunity
in Steamboat Springs where pet-friendly properties are very uncommon for
vacation rentals. There are fees and strict rules associated with this privilege,
so if interested in bringing your furry friend to Steamboat Digs, please
read on.
To bring your dog to SteamboatDigs, you will be required to pay in advance
a $75 pet fee plus a $250 refundable deposit which is above and beyond
your $500 rental security deposit. You will also be responsible for
any damages, excessive cleaning, and fines that may occur as a result of
your pet, so please read the rules carefully.
- One Dog per Stay: With the owner's approval, guests of SteamboatDigs
(which is unit #34 of the Subalpine Condos) may bring ONE dog per unit.
- Fee & Damage Deposit: A pet fee of $75 per visit is required
as well as a refundable damage deposit of $250 (which is in addition
to the rental security deposit required in your Rental Agreement). All
fees and deposits must be fully paid in advance. Damage deposit may
be authorized on a Visa®, MasterCard®, or Discover® credit
card or paid in advance by check (personal checks require a minimum
of 11 business days after receipt and prior to check-in to clear our
bank).
- Registration: ALL pets must be registered with the management
company. The registration form (click here
to view PDF) must be fully completed by both the guest and SteamboatDigs
owners prior to moving a dog into the unit. Failure to register a pet
will result in a $250 fine to you, the guest, that may not be waived.
- Vaccination & Compliance with Codes: All dogs must have
current rabies vaccination and are subject to all applicable Steamboat
Springs Municipal Codes. No dogs may be kept, bred or maintained for
any commercial purposes. Learn more by reading the
municipal code on animals.
- No savage or dangerous animals shall be allowed on the property.
- Disturbances and Nuisances: Pets shall not cause a nuisance or disturbance (i.e. barking, running loose, excrement not picked up immediately).
- Picking Up Doo-doo: Dog owners or their designated pet sitter
are responsible for picking up after their pets at the time of the occurrence.
Pet waste must be immediately disposed of in dumpster outside the building,
in the north parking lot. Bags will be provided as a courtesy to SteamboatDigs
guests - available in the closet next to the front door. Never dispose
of pet waste inside the building.
- No Unattended Pets: Leaving dogs unattended in vehicles for
any period of time is not allowed. Pets are not to be tied to any common
areas (including patios and decks) nor left unattended in such common
areas. When outside the confines of their respective unit all pets must
be accompanied by an occupant of the unit or designated pet sitter and
in compliance with all applicable Steamboat Springs Municipal Codes.
- Care of the Interior of the Condo: Dogs that are at risk for
chewing, scratching, or staining furniture, upholstery, floors, or carpets
or otherwise damaging any part of the property are not allowed at Steamboat
Digs. Pet owners are responsible for assuring pet is clean before entering
the condo: any stains to the carpet, upholstery, walls, floors, appliances,
or any other part of Steamboat Digs will incur additional cleaning fees,
not limited by your security deposits. Keeping a pet clean can be a
challenge in this mountain setting. Towels are provided as a courtesy
in the closet next to the front door: do not use towels from the bathrooms
or guest rooms on your pet. Bowls are provided for food and water: you
are responsible for immediate pickup and mopping of any spills. A vacuum
and other cleaning supplies are available in the front door closet,
under the kitchen sink, and in the master bath water heater closet.
If you move any furniture, decor, etc. (e.g., out of reach of your pet),
you must replace it before check-out.
- Safety of Your Pet: When you arrive, please inspect the premises
for hazards. We make no warrantees as to the Property being "pet-safe"
- by staying with us, you agree that you are responsible for your pet's
safety. There may be electrical cords, small items, chemicals, etc.
about the condo that could be hazardous to pets.
- Complaints: Any
complaints regarding the maintenance of pets, the noise generated by
pets, excrement from pets, and in general any inconvenience to other
unit owners caused by pets shall be directed to the management company,
Steamboat Association Management at 970-875-2800. All callers will be
asked to provide the unit number of the pet owner if possible, a
description of the problem, description of the pet and any other
information to correctly identify the owner of the pet. Employees of
the management company are authorized to file complaints as well.
- Fines & Damages: Fines begin at $250 for any first infraction
of these rules and regulations, payable by the guest. You are responsible
for any and all damages caused to the condo, its contents, or the premises
by your pet. Any excessive cleaning (defined as more than six total
hours for full unit cleaning) is also your responsibility. We reserve
the right to charge you damages, penalties, additional cleaning fees,
replacement costs, and other associated costs, not limited by the fees
and deposits listed here and on your Rental Agreement.
